About Me
CURRENTLY ACCEPTING Coloradoan's in person (Montezuma County/Cortez) & New Jerseyian's virtually. Hello! Licensed Clinical Social Worker here serving a broad spectrum of clients from emergent adulthood into seniority. I completed clinical social work studies at Saint Louis University's College of Public Health and Social Justice in 2014, and went on to practice hospice care with Alternative Hospice in Fenton, Missouri and Grace Hospice in Monmouth County, NJ. After leaving full time hospice care in 2019 a shingle was hung promoting forward movement as a clinician. Providing psychotherapy services with Hackensack Meridian's Life Transitions Program, and as a Trauma Clinician at the Mental Health Association of Monmouth County's Adult Outpatient Program revealed the inextricable link between chronic illness and trauma,. Intimacy with the dying process, alongside this inextricable link, led me to seek new tools for assisting clients while they are living. The main tool was the EMDR/Reprocessing model! I find my center in the garden and seek maintenance commitment to soil fertility and sustainability of polyculture on earth.
Education & Experience
I trained with Humanitarian Assistance Programs Trauma Recovery (HAP) in 2018 and became a certified EMDR therapist with EMDRIA in 2020. I began training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) with Portland Psychotherapy in 2019 and have folded in Ancestral Medicine Healing and lineage repair trainings in 2020. Currently, my training focus is on IFS (Internal Family Systems) studies in an effort to become a more informed clinician treating complex PTSD experiences of ego state during an EMDR treatment session. Prior to working in mental health I spent fifteen years of domestic and international teaching in secondary education; promoting literacy and language arts. Among my areas of expertise are Trauma, Divorce, Infertility, Attachment, Grief and Loss, End of Life, Anxiety and Depression. Lastly, in 2023 my practice began incorporating the integration of Plant Medicine into trauma recovery via training with MAPS to begin laying groundwork for integration of Psychedelic Assisted Therapy with EMDR pending FDA approval of investigational MDMA. That's alot of acronyms!!!
Professional & Volunteer Affiliations
My practice respects all beings and is LGBTQIA affirmative, committed to decolonizing therapy and antiracism. This practice strives to create access of in network EMDR services for the most vulnerable populations; specifically for members of non commercial payor sources: medicaid, medicare, tribal health and veteran affairs.
