Education & Experience

With a Bachelor’s in Social Work from Carthage College (Wisconsin) and a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Denver (Colorado), I began my career as a clinical therapist working with incarcerated women. In 2019, I relocated to New York to serve as the Director of Behavioral Health at Bridging Access to Care, overseeing substance use and mental health clinics in Brooklyn. When the COVID-19 pandemic began in 2020, the social work field was forced to adapt rapidly. I shifted my focus to addressing the surge in domestic violence cases during a time when service utilization was declining nationwide. Later that year, I became the Interim Director of Domestic Violence Services at Henry Street Settlement, a New York City–based settlement house, where I oversaw operations for a 28-family shelter serving survivors of domestic violence and their children. Following the height of the pandemic, I worked as Clinical Director for Resilience Lab for 3 years. I deepened my focus on the integration of holistic and mindfulness-based approaches to trauma recovery. I opened my own practice in 2023 to support others in navigating relational trauma and personal growth through a more integrative, whole-person lens. Currently, I work as Clinical Director at Clarity Clinic in Chicago overseeing the River North and Evanston locations. I continue to teach Master of Social Work students with the University of Denver since 2017.
