Amanda is a seasoned therapist with over a decade of experience in empowering individuals towards holistic well-being. Amanda’s approach to therapy begins with creating a safe and trusting relationship that supports you to gain self-understanding and make positive changes in your life. Amanda is dedicated to helping you overcome obstacles so that you can engage more fully in your life and live in alignment with what is truly important to you. Amanda utilizes evidence-based interventions to help you gain insight into harmful patterns and lessen their impact on your daily life. Amanda values compassion, authenticity, directness and humor in her work and has a warm and empathetic style allowing you to deepen self-awareness and connectedness. Amanda specializes in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy(ACT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy(DBT), Mindfulness, EMDR and Neuroscience-informed psychotherapy focusing on the mind-body connection. Amanda specializes in binge eating disorder, compulsive over eating, body trust, HAES, self-esteem, substance abuse, stress management, anxiety, depression and trauma informed therapy. In her free time, Amanda enjoys kayaking, paddle boarding, farmers markets and taking care of her plants.
Education & Experience
Amanda’s experience includes working a sexual assault advocate, a domestic violence advocate, a counselor at a women’s halfway house, and working at Eating Recovery Center in the Binge Eating Treatment and Recovery Program. Amanda holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Welfare and Gender Studies from University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Master’s degree in Social Work from Loyola University Chicago.
