About Me
Hello and thank you for your interest in working with me. I know that it can be difficult for some, to ask for help. Approximately one year ago, I began my journey as an EMDR therapist and I will never look back. EMDR, and more recently, the application of Polyvagal Theory to my work has positively impacted my client's lives and my own life. What I want you to know is that no matter how much you are hurting right now, there is nothing about you that is "broken". Also, you are not a "weak" person and it is in no way your "fault" that you are having a difficult time. These beliefs are common among the many amazing human beings that have given me the honor of supporting them on their journey to healing. In collaboration with my clients, we are able to clearly connect the dots from present distressing symptoms to past life experiences. We are also able to reframe troubling symptoms as adaptive nervous system responses that can hijack our ability to make rational choices that align with our genuine and authentic selves. This is incredibly powerful in alleviating any shame that you may be experiencing right now about your present challenges. The great news is that our brains and bodies are flexible, and there is much hope for healing. My clients tell me that I am easy to talk to. Our first goal in therapy is for me to learn your life story, your "superpowers" (as I like to call them), and what you define as your biggest challenges getting in the way of living your best life. In addition to EMDR, I will draw from a variety of other counseling approaches that are the best fit for your unique situation. There is no one-size-fits-all approach to counseling. I offer a 15-20 minute phone consultation, at no cost, to you. These calls are for you to tell me a bit about yourself, and for me to answer any questions you have for me. I am a Pennsylvania Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor. I enjoy working with individuals across a wide range of developmental life stages (ages 14 and up). I also commonly integrate other important loved ones in therapy whenever my clients would like to do that. I work with a smaller number of couples and families than individuals, but if you are looking for this, please don't hesitate to reach out so that we can have a chat and see if we might be a good fit.
