Aneeka Angus, LCSW

About Me

Aneeka Angus is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker located in Middletown, CT. Aneeka enjoys coaching individuals through major life changes, overcoming obstacles to happiness or fulfillment, and exploring self identity. She specializes in working with clients who would like to improve their self-esteem and communication skills, which can help them both in their personal and professional lives. Many of Aneeka’s clients develop unhealthy patterns in their lives as the result of stress, trauma, anxiety, or depression. They arrive at therapy ready to untangle those patterns and replace them with healthier alternatives. Aneeka’s approach to helping clients draws from mindfulness practices, and she encourages clients to attend to their current state of being, rather than worrying about the past or the future. Clients practice mindfulness exercises like deep breathing with Aneeka’s guidance, and benefit from Reiki and Crystal Healing work. Clients will also reflect on what’s working for them in their lives and what isn’t working for them, setting goals with Aneeka. When these goals include a reduction of mental health symptoms, Aneeka practices Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), two evidence-based therapy modalities that are helpful in examining emotional reactions. Through therapy, clients grow their self-esteem and self-love so they can react in healthy ways to life events.
