About Me
Hello! My name is Annika (she/her) and I specialize in trauma-focused therapy, supporting adults with complex trauma, developmental trauma, and chronic stress responses. I have a particular focus on working with people who have experienced high-risk or trauma-exposed professions, interpersonal violence, and other overwhelming life experiences. My approach is grounded in creating safety, stability, and nervous system–informed care. I primarily use EMDR therapy, and integrate attachment-based interventions, parts work, polyvagal-informed practices, and mindfulness-based approaches to support deep, lasting healing.
Education & Experience
I have advanced graduate-level education (Masters of Arts Counselling Psychology) in clinical counselling and specialized training in trauma treatment, with advanced training in EMDR therapy, including the Flash Technique. I have worked in correctional, forensic, and community mental health settings, as well as private practice, supporting individuals impacted by complex trauma, childhood abuse, sexual and domestic violence, and occupational trauma. My work is grounded in evidence-based practice, ongoing professional development, and a strong understanding of how trauma affects the nervous system, identity, and relationships.
