About Me

Belinda is a trauma informed bilingual (Spanish/English) Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas. She is also a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) through the National Board of Certified Counselors. She earned her Master of Science Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Texas A & M University- Central Texas, and her Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Colorado Technical University. Belinda retired from the United States Army after serving her country for 21 years and enjoys working with the military community. Belinda has over 17 years of experience working in the mental health and social services field. She has worked in various mental health settings in both the military and civilian communities. These settings include inpatient, outpatient, in-home and community mental health. Belinda has also worked at a children’s advocacy center for child victims of sexual/physical abuse, as both a therapist and forensic interviewer. She is certified in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT); Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy; Child Centered Play Therapy, and is a Certified Clinical Sand Tray Therapist. Belinda incorporates a variety of techniques when working with her clients, such as expressive arts therapy. The goal is to tailor the treatment to the client’s needs. Belinda is passionate about working with people who are seeking support with a wide range of issues. She strives to meet the unique needs of each client, by drawing on a range of therapeutic modalities. She comes to work as a therapist with compassion, warmth, humor, and honesty. When Belinda is not at work, she enjoys traveling, and spending time with her family.
