Education & Experience
I have been practicing therapy for over 15 years with a Masters Degree in Social Work. I have worked extensively with youth who have had conflict with the law, along with the challenges that their families face navigating the system and the complexity that it comes with. I have also coached individuals with ADHD, assisting them with tools to help them navigate where they feel challenged. I work with adolescents, young adults, and adults who have experienced challenging life circumstances. I work with individuals who have experienced trauma, anxiety, depression, interpersonal conflict, grief, stress, abuse and domestic violence. I use a variety of approaches, catering each therapy session to the individual focusing on what their strengths and needs are. I love to equip clients with skills and tools to help them manage the challenges that life brings them with approaches such as DBT, CBT and EMDR. I love to use humor (of course when appropriate) and creativity, and enjoy laughing with my clients, as laughter can often be one of our best resources. I am dedicated to creating a safe space for clients where they feel like they can be themselves and discover more of who they are and who they want to be. I believe that as a woman of color I have moved though the world in a unique way and it has given me a remarkable perspective on life and the challenges that being someone of color experiences. My perspective gives me a passion to assist my clients find their voice, choice and their power.
