About Me
I have always loved putting myself in someone else’s shoes and seeing the world through their eyes. As a therapist, I do that very thing with my clients. I seek to understand your world view and find creative ways to heal the parts of you that are hurting. I work with people with a wide array of issues such as anxiety, depression, eating disorders, trauma, addiction, grief, self-harm, and suicidal ideation. I have experience in various levels of care, including hospitalization, psychiatric residential treatment, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, and outpatient treatment. I help my clients learn how to handle intense emotions, reduce problem behaviors, and replace negative thoughts with more helpful thoughts.
Education & Experience
I obtained my undergraduate degree in psychology from Kansas State University and my graduate degree in substance abuse and clinical counseling from East Carolina University. I worked for 2 years in an eating disorder partial hospitalization/intensive outpatient clinic and 3 years in community mental health setting. I began my private practice in 2020 and I enjoy treating a variety of mental health concerns including trauma, eating disorders, and mood disorders. I completed training for EMDR in 2021 and am currently EMDR certified.
