About Me

I am a seasoned clinician with over 14 years in the social work/mental health field and approximately 7 plus years doing counselling and psychotherapy specifically. I have always worked with trauma and after years, finally decided to get trained in EMDR therapy. I have been practicing EMDR therapy for about two years now and have submitted my application for full certification. I have Indigenous (Cayuga, Six Nations membership) heritage and have extensive experience working with Indigenous clientele. I work well with: Trauma (including CPTSD, relational trauma, attachment trauma), anxiety disorders, perinatal mental health concerns and parent mental health as well as disordered eating and body image. I see therapy as both a science and an art. I love to keep up to date on evidence based information and current training. I also find that tailoring services to client preference and need is essential. After many years in the field, I am able to easily attune to client needs and use many tools that I have learned over the years. Relationship is paramount to effective therapy and therefore creating a sense of safety and comfortability with clients is always of utmost importance when getting started. I am a NIHB provider for Indigenous clients with status and can bill directly to Health Canada. I am also set up to direct bill with some extended health plans through Telus eClaims. I have a Master of Social Work which is often covered under paramedical benefits and you may be eligible for reimbursement. I am currently accepting new clients for in person and virtual services.
