About Me
I approach all things holistically and do not believe in "I cant." I believe we are all in a system beginning with family and extending to our world views and behaviours. I began my journey serving in the United States Navy in helping people and doing my part. I was a police officer in Florida and in Texas for ten years. I worked in Corporate fields and became a mother at 25 years old. Being a mother was and is one of the most important jobs that I have ever had. I am a Christian and love nature and animals. My heart bleeds the older I get for the hurt and unheard both people and animals. I want to part of the change beginning in ones view of self.
Education & Experience
I graduated Austin Community College in 2009 in Law Enforcement. I graduate Texas State University with a BASS in Psychology, Criminal Justice, and Sociology in 2010. I graduated Liberty University with a MA in Professional Counseling in 2013. I went on to pursue my Doctorate in Marriage and Family Therapist at Northcentral University in 2014 and still working on it now. I have worn many hats in life by serving in the United Sates Navy, Florida Police Officer, Texas Peace Officer, Dell Computers, Sears Tech support, and GE before becoming a therapist. I worked at Granbury Youth Services as a therapeutic manager for two years, currently work for Methodist Healthcare Ministries as a Community Counseling for four years, and have established a private practice for over a year.
Professional & Volunteer Affiliations
I began volunteering in Austin through street ministry. I volunteered at the Round Rock serving for two years. I volunteered with the Community IN Schools program for one year as well as set up a back pack program at a school close to were I live for two years. I worked through three churches in Austin where I counselled people that were going through the Celebrate Recovery program for two years. I volunteered at the Salvation Army in Austin TX for two years working with men every Saturday and two groups through the week. I am currently affiliated with three churches where I volunteer at the food pantry, and once a month food distributions done in Port Lavaca and Victoria.
