Carli Genet, LICSW
About Me
You’ve tried to do the work to change and grow, but can sense there is more to your story. Maybe you’ve even tried talking with a therapist in the past. Even still, it’s become clear that there isn’t enough “you” in your life and that your challenges have deeper roots than you realized. Carli’s integrative approach to therapy supports from the ground up and can help you to understand what is happening in this root system. Her approach supports integrating the truest version of you into present life as past wounds are healed. Carli made the decision to become a psychotherapist, knowing that providing whole-person care was her goal – and her office space is a representation of that goal! Carli describes herself as a learner at heart and loves growing her “therapist toolbox” for her clients. She feels that one of her most significant tools is her own therapeutic work because it allows her to understand both the profound growth and vulnerability that stepping into a therapeutic relationship requires. This special combination of brain and heart-based knowledge allows her to provide a safe space for her clients to move through their wounds with both intuition and insight. Carli offers individual, couples and intensive EMDR therapy for adults 24 and older. She incorporates both physical and mental treatment modalities including Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Eye Movement Desensitization (EMDR), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Interventions, Motivational Interviewing, mindfulness, somatic interventions and yoga. Education & Experience
Carli is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in the State of NH and graduate of the UNH Masters in Social Work program. She chose to pursue a degree in social work because, in addition to wanting to help people on individual levels, she has always been motivated to understand and effect change within larger powers at play. In fact, she often considers therapy to be a form of emotional activism.
