Carol Long, LPC
Preferred Name: Carol
About Me
I've been a Licensed Professional Counselor in St. Louis, Missouri for the past 22 years focused on a variety of mental health issues within the community. I decided to become trained in EMDR during the Covid Pandemic in 2021 due to witnessing the shared trauma we all endured. This decision has transformed my private practice by shifting the focus from skill building and symptom management to a treatment that can heal wounds. While EMDR is my primary modality of treatment, I find combining Internal Family Systems (IFS) to EMDR can be an effective way of connecting with clients.
Education & Experience
I received my Bachelors of Science in Psychology with a minor in Sociology from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville in Edwardsville, Illinois in 1996. I completed a Masters of Arts in Counseling from Webster University in Webster Groves, Missouri in 2002. I've worked in a variety of setting including community mental health, hospitals, and private practice over the course of my career.
