About Me
Emotional pain is inevitable in life. Feelings of stress, inadequacy, disappointment, anxiety, anger, and grief are universal and part of the shared human experience. Every individual experience these feelings through different situations and all of us interpret these experiences through varied perspectives because of our culture, personal history and personality differences. To move on, sometimes we learn to mask our difficult emotions by suffering in silence or behaving as though everything is okay. However, when we avoid facing our pain, they may fester within us and result in more shame and turmoil that affects our daily lives. Yet, in all pain therein lies an opportunity for growth. Growth and healing take place when we are rested in the confidence that we can trust ourselves to learn and improve. To navigate life's challenges, we need to embrace all parts of us, including our traumatic pasts. With this, we can then discover and use our internal resources to reshape our own narrative of life and build our resilience again. With over 10 years of experience, I hope to provide you with a safe and non-judgmental environment to heal and grow. We will journey through those difficult moments and explore what it means to live with deeper clarity, authenticity and joy. It will indeed be my honour to connect with you and i look forward to our time together.
Education & Experience
My approach is wholehearted, empathetic and collaborative. I am generally guided by a compassion-focused, mindfulness-based approach that involves reflective conversations as well as psycho-educational skills training from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT). For trauma-related issues, my preferred treatment methods are Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR) and Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP). Since every client has unique needs, I also work by integrating tools and techniques from different therapy approaches.
