About Me
Trauma and other adverse experiences can play a significant role in how we feel about ourselves and interact with the world around us. Sometimes it may feel like we are perpetually stuck in emotional reliving. I create a safe and affirming space for clients to both process and develop skills to help them move away from just "surviving." I aim to meet clients where they are at and to help them foster sustainable positive changes. I strive to embody cultural humility and a passion for social justice in my work. My goal is to partner with clients to help them develop insight and build more meaningful lives. With formal training in EMDR (pursuing Certification) and DBT, I help clients work towards desensitization and reprocessing of past adverse experiences, as well as to develop skills to regulate emotions, tolerate distress, and develop healthier relationships. I am also certified by Postpartum Support International as a Perinatal Mental Health counselor. Taking steps to engage or re-engage in therapy takes courage. It is not easy to practice vulnerability and to open oneself up to painful thoughts, feelings, and experiences. Therapy is not a "magic cure," but it can help clients access what they have been avoiding, which facilitates growth. I look forward to walking with you for this part of your journey.
