About Me

Cymbeline is passionate about mental health and how therapy can transform a person's quality of life. Cymbeline values the individuality of each client and their needs within the context of universal human fears, existential, and terrestrial. (In other words, get ready to face your fears together in session!) With sixteen years of experience working as a therapist with adolescents and adults, Cymbeline has most recently been a Clinical Supervisor at her own private practice in Los Feliz and previously at Resilience Treatment Center in Century City. Previously, she was the Program Director at: Center for Discovery, when it opened in Beverly Hills, specializing in eating disorder recovery with adolescents & adults La Ventana Treatment Program, Encino for Dual Diagnosis. In her private practice, Cymbeline has specialized in individual & couples therapy since 2014. Her previous career as an actress in England with the Royal National Theatre and then co-founding her own all-female production company has helped to create a fundamental understanding of the entertainment climate here. Cymbeline uses talk therapy, and for clients with trauma she also uses EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy to reduce PTSD, (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) Eating Disorder Challenges and if a client is just feeling stuck!

Education & Experience

Master's (M.A.) in Clinical Psychology ~ Antioch University Post-graduate Diploma in Acting. Drama Studio London (DSL), England B.A. Theatre Arts. Birmingham University, England EMDR Training I & II completed Cymbeline Smith has her Master's in Clinical Psychology and is a psychotherapist who is licensed through the Board of Behavioral Science (BBS) as a Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT 79658) in the State of California.

Professional & Volunteer Affiliations

Cymbeline has lectured at Oxford University in England on her passion project, the subject of Countertransference. (In layperson's terms, it's basically a long word that describes how therapists need to do their own therapy work to be able to really help their clients.) Cymbeline has also run workshops at three different companies on this same subject matter with therapists and registered dieticians. Cymbeline's three-year internship at Reasons, BHC Alhambra Psychiatric Hospital gave her the opportunity to work at all levels of care, including Inpatient, Residential, Partial Hospitalization (PHP), and Intensive Outpatient. (IOP)
