About Me
David Krzysko, LCPC, EMDR EMDRIA Trained & Certified, CCTP-I&II certified I and II (Certified Clinical Trauma Professional) and ASAM trained (addictions) - Trained and certified in EMDR and other trauma treatment methods and expertise with addictions as well. - A focus on relaxation techniques when useful. I believes strongly in quality of care. The therapeutic process is focused and collaborative. I assess obstacles in order to understand the core meaning, and together, I work with clients to challenge–and overcome–those obstacles. I see my role as supportive, providing a safe space that creates and allows this transformative process to occur. I believe that a great percentage of our existence needs to give focus, attention, and concentration on identifying our pursuits. I feel that when we are actively engaged in our pursuits it gives us passion, and it allows us to feel meaningfully engaged, which improves our overall quality of life. My style of therapy is person-centered, with a focus on motivational interviewing. I can incorporate cognitive skills and relaxation techniques too. I am skilled in working with people who suffer from depression, anxiety, addictions, and trauma. I combine neuropsychology with neurobiology. I work with couples as well. Relationships can get off course, full of grievances and even shattered expectations, and my goal is to help couples enhance their relationship through different communication styles, while still nurturing, rediscovering admiration, and embracing the positive influence that brought couples together from the moment they met. There is also a direct focus on understanding disconnectors, which is an important psychoeducational process. Through this type of work, we find out how we can reconnect. My background is in CBT, EMDR, conflict resolution, relaxation techniques, and trauma work. In addition to these, I have vast experience in addictions (ASAM trained) as well as grief, loss, and bereavement, recognizing that there is an intimately deep processing of each stage that he helps guide others through to help make sense of it all. I've worked incommunity centers and homeless shelters, with children/adolescents/adults and even with veterans/families/recently released from incarceration. I've also worked in inpatient hospital settings (IOP and PHP), and in private practice. My passion is working through the therapeutic process, the exploration and discovery of everyone’s journey, the potential for transformation within every being, and the search for meaning & purpose. I currently work in the area of private practice with children, adolescents, adults, veterans, and in group therapy.
