About Me

As a counselor, my core focus is establishing a safe environment and therapeutic relationship between myself and my client. Interwoven with that foundation I incorporate a combination of neuro-biologically informed practices, and evidence based models. I individualize my approach to each client based upon their presenting concerns, past experiences, behavioral, developmental and emotional functioning, while taking into account their neurodevelopment. Additionally, I integrate a systemic view of their needs, and incorporate those systems as much as possible. In developing a plan with a client, we identify a treatment model or models that would serve to meet their goals. I then work on fusing that specific plan with experiential, body-based, tactile, and creative interventions that can support the client’s ability to control their feelings. My philosophy focuses on an understanding that individuals are best able to process through a specific therapeutic model once the tenants of regulation and relationship are met.
