About Me
You have been through a lot, but it does not have to define you. Life has not exactly been a straight road. You have handled heartbreak, career pressures, relationship conflicts, and responsibilities that no one prepared you for. Maybe you are the one everyone relies on, or maybe you have spent years pushing through, telling yourself you are fine until you realize that the weight of it all has not really gone away. I am Demetria M. Jackson, M.A., LMFT, a licensed marriage and family therapist, certified trauma therapist, and EMDR clinician trained in Flash Technique, Brainspotting, and Gottman Methods. I work with adults, couples, and first responders who are done pretending they are okay and are ready to actually heal on their own terms. EMDR does not require you to talk through every detail to heal. Therapy does not have to mean rehashing the same old stories over and over again. You already know what happened. The real question is how do you stop it from controlling how you feel about yourself and your life now? That is where EMDR, or Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, comes in. It is a proven, brain-based therapy that helps you finally let go of the things that keep looping in your mind without having to relive every painful detail. EMDR can help women healing from betrayals, toxic relationships, and self-doubt that will not seem to go away. It can help couples struggling with trust, communication, and past wounds that keep resurfacing. First responders, military personnel, and high-stakes professionals who need a private and effective way to process trauma can also benefit. EMDR can also support adults dealing with stress, anxiety, or painful memories that still affect their present. Healing should honor every part of you. Your experiences do not exist in a vacuum. Faith, culture, gender, sexuality, and family history all shape how you carry stress, trauma, and relationships. As a marriage and family therapist, I integrate these factors into treatment, helping you make sense of how they influence your emotions, reactions, and healing process. This is not a one-size-fits-all approach. We work together to create a path forward that makes sense for you. Therapy should be real and effective. I understand that therapy needs to be practical, meaningful, and tailored to your life. My approach is direct, supportive, and focused on real change. Sessions are fully virtual and confidential, giving you a safe space to process at your own pace without pressure, judgment, or unnecessary talking. You have done the work to survive, now let’s do the work to thrive. If you are tired of carrying the past into your present, feeling stuck in cycles of stress, doubt, or emotional exhaustion, it is time to do something different. Let’s get started on your terms.
