Online Therapy

About Me

I was drawn to Solution-Focused Brief Therapy as I truly believe that my clients are the experts in their own lives and my job is to build a strong professional relationship with each individual and to ask purposeful questions to help each person find their own solutions. I am trained to listen for the exceptions to the person’s problems, to identify their strengths, and to help build on these to discover solutions in their lives. In addition to Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, I am also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). EMDR can be used to help clients reprocess trauma that may be interfering with a person’s ability to achieve their desired goals. I have found that these two modes of therapy work well together and both are effective in treating a wide variety of issues including anxiety, depression, trauma, self-esteem issues, relationships issues, etc. My passion in life is, and has always been, to help others. If you are ready for a change, please reach out to me to inquire if I am the right fit for your emotional needs and if my availability and location work for you. I am currently offering in person and telehealth sessions.

Education & Experience

Professionally, I am a Licensed Professional Counseling (LPC) and a National Certified Counselor. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Colorado State University and my Masters degree in Counseling Psychology and Counselor Education from the University of Colorado Denver. I have over 20 years working in the mental health field. My professional experiences includes working in substance use treatment agencies and community mental health centers prior to starting my own private practice in 2014. Part of my community mental health experience included being an Integrated Behavioral Health Specialist in a pediatric office. I have worked with children, teens, adults, families and couples. These experiences honed my skills in working with a wide variety of populations and challenged me to learn ways to connect with each individual whether they sought help on their own or due to another person in their life encouraging them, or requiring them to do so (family members, probation, Department of Human Services, or the court system).
