About Me
Hello! I am an AuDHD play therapist who has overcome long-term healing from substance-use, In addition, I'm passionate about empowering parents to break free from frustration and build stronger relationships with their children. With expertise in EMDR Play Therapy, I support children and their families in navigating the complexities of life and modern parenting. I'm also a vocal advocate for children's rights, working to dismantle the Treatment Industrial Complex that perpetuates the school-to-prison pipeline. Through my work as an Education Consultant, I help parents access special education services, modifications, and accommodations that foster a supportive learning environment. Additionally, I provide guidance on navigating the education system to prioritize children's mental health. As a substance-use expert, I'm committed to harm reduction and evidence-based treatment approaches. I believe in providing accurate information about substance use and advocating for policies that prioritize compassion and wellness. If you or a loved one is struggling with psychosis or schizophrenia, I'm here to offer support, guidance and hope through specialized EMDR services. Let's work together to create a more just and supportive world for all families."
Education & Experience
As a dedicated and compassionate therapist, my journey began with a personal mission to navigate the complex world of special education services for my daughter. This experience sparked a 20-year career in human services, where I worked tirelessly to support at-risk youth, individuals with developmental disabilities, and children and families within the foster care system. Today, I'm proud to own and operate a solo private practice, specializing in play therapy for neurodivergent children and their parents. My services also include education consulting for special education services, neurodivergent-affirming diagnostic testing, and evaluations. With expertise in a range of specialties, including Autism, ADHD, and trauma-informed care, I'm committed to providing inclusive and affirming support. My academic background includes a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from SUNY Oneonta, a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden University, and I'm currently pursuing my Doctor of Psychology from California Southern University. My dissertation research focuses on the critical issue of zero-tolerance policies and their devastating impact on marginalized students, leading to increased substance use, oppression, and untimely deaths. Through my work, I aim to create a safer, more compassionate world for all individuals, especially those who have been marginalized or oppressed. I am licensed in NY, VT, FL, SC, MA, and DE.
