About Me

My passion is to work with individuals and families who have experienced sexual, emotional, or physical abuse, neglect, traumatic grief, attachment difficulties, adoption, developmental trauma, domestic violence, and other types of trauma. It is important with early or developmental trauma to work with a bottom up approach which means that therapy interventions need to target the lower parts of the brain first in order to heal and be able to access the upper, more cognitive brain. I work with a wide range of other presenting issues including, but not limited to anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, self harm, grief, divorce, adjustment disorders, behavior problems, self-esteem, stress and issues related LGBTQ+ individuals. Some theories and interventions I utilize include Interpersonal Neurobiology, Polyvagal Theory, Attachment, Loss and Grief, Child Centered Play Therapy, Theraplay principles (Trained in Level 1 and 2), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Sandtray Therapy, Mindfulness, HeartMath, Expressive Arts, Attachment Based Family Therapy, Trust Based Relational Intervention (TBRI), Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS) informed therapy, and Prescriptive Play Therapy Interventions. I am certified in an EMDR Certified Therapist, TBRI® Practioner, HeartMath® Certified Practioner, Safe and Sound Practitioner, and certified in TF-CBT.
