Liz is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Oregon with a masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (specialization in child & adolescent counseling). Liz offers therapy for children, teens, adolescents, young adults, and families. She specializes in youth with trauma, behavioral and emotional issues (including self-harm, trauma, & aggression), young adults recovering from childhood trauma, and ADHD throughout the lifespan. Prior to beginning her own practice, Liz worked with youth in high-acuity residential treatment, provided intensive in-home stabilization/ crisis-intervention for youth and families, offered individual and group therapy in intensive outpatient settings. As a therapist, Liz is both practical and out-of-the-box. She draws from multiple theoretical orientations, including EMDR, Internal Family Systems, Gestalt, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Play Therapy and Interpersonal Neurobiology. Liz is especially skilled at integrating play therapy techniques with EMDR to help youth resolve trauma-related issues. Liz also uses animal-assisted therapy to support clients in developing healthy attachment, learning emotion regulation skills, and accessing feelings of safety and security throughout the therapeutic process.
