About Me

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over a decade of experience supporting individuals through life’s most complex emotional challenges. My early career was rooted in acute and residential mental health settings, where I spent seven years developing a strong clinical foundation in crisis intervention, trauma-informed care, and multidisciplinary collaboration. Those formative years continue to shape my integrative approach to therapy today. My practice is grounded in the belief that our experiences, especially those involving trauma, grief, or major transitions, leave lasting imprints not only on the mind but also on the body. I use a holistic, client-centered lens to tailor treatment to each individual, honoring the interconnectedness of emotional, physical, and relational wellbeing. I specialize in treating trauma, depression, anxiety, grief, eating disorders, and navigating major life transitions. My therapeutic style is collaborative, relational, and grounded in clinical depth. I draw on a range of evidence-based approaches. A consistent thread in my work is helping clients understand how emotions live in the body, and how greater self-awareness can lead to meaningful growth and healing. Clients often describe me as open, honest, and direct in a supportive and nonjudgmental way. I strive to create a space where people can feel safe, seen, and challenged when needed. Whether we are working through long-held patterns or addressing something more acute, I will meet you with both clinical skill and genuine care as we work together toward your goals. Originally from England, I’ve called Virginia home for over twenty years. When I am not in session, you will likely find me curled up with my dogs, a cup of tea, and a good book or engaged in a competitive board game that involves strategy and wit. I am also an avid traveler, always seeking new perspectives and experiences. Scotland, with its rich history and striking landscapes, is currently my favorite destination. Above all, I believe in the power of therapy to help us reconnect with our inner strength, rewrite limiting narratives, and cultivate a life that feels meaningful and fulfilling.

Education & Experience

I earned my Master of Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University and now serve as a community-embedded professor in VCU’s MSW program—an opportunity that allows me to give back to the next generation of clinical social workers while staying connected to evolving best practices in the field.
