About Me

Erin is a master's level Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with Supervisory status. She has over 20 years of experience as a licensed counselor working in residential, partial hospitalization, and outpatient settings. Erin works with children, adolescents, and adults. She specializes in treating PTSD, developmental trauma, and dissociation. She often works with survivors of physical, sexual, emotional, mental abuse; neglect; abandonment; and domestic violence. She also specializes in infant and early childhood mental health, adoption, parenting, and disrupted attachment. Erin is the founder of Brainwork Healing Center™, LLC, which is proud to use cutting-edge advancements in neuroscience; the latest research in psychotraumatology; and evidence-based practices; such as EMDR™, NMT™ and aspects of somatic psychotherapy; to strategically and more efficiently treat the physical, social, emotional and cognitive effects of trauma and stress. Erin uses EMDR as a means of increasing mental health and reprocessing traumatic experiences. As a Level II NMT™ Train-The-Trainer, Erin uses NMT™ concepts in session, completes NMT™ brain maps, and can provide NMT™ based training upon request. She is also trained in The Incredible Years® and utilizes aspects of cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, sand tray therapy, art therapy, play therapy and somatic psychotherapy as needed. Education & Experience

Erin holds a master’s degree in clinical counseling. She is independently licensed by the state of Ohio as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with Supervisory status. She was certified in EMDR in 2009 and as a Level II NMT™ Train-The Trainer in the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics™ in 2015. She has also completed advanced training through the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation. Erin is currently undergoing Traumatic Stress Studies Certification through Dr. Bessel van der Kolk and the Trauma Research Foundation. Erin has over 20 years of experience in working with child, adolescent, and adult survivors of trauma, abuse, neglect, abandonment, and stress. She has a great deal of advanced training in early childhood mental health, child and adolescent counseling, trauma treatment, behavior disorders, attachment issues, parenting, family dynamics, dissociation, adoption and neglect. Before transitioning to private practice, Erin served as Director for Early Childhood Mental Health, Preschool Partial Hospitalization, and Psychiatric Services. She also served as Director for Clinical Training & Education at a local community mental health agency and was instrumental in providing advanced clinical training and in implementing trauma-informed care at an agency-wide level. Currently, she is in private practice where she provides child counseling, adolescent counseling, and adult counseling; trauma treatment; and advanced clinical training to other mental health professionals, educators, and members of the community.

Professional & Volunteer Affiliations

Erin volunteers within the community and for the EMDR Humanitarian Assistance Program: Buckeye Trauma Response Network. She also assisted individuals with finding missing loved ones from the Lāhainā, Maui August 2023 fire.
