About Me
I have a degree in psychology and a master’s degree in neuroscience. Specialized in Psychotrauma, neuroscience and Neurodevelopment. With more than twenty-five years of experience in the treatment and recovery of different mental health conditions, including widespread developmental disorders, the spectrum of psychological trauma and regulation of the NSA from the foundations of the practice reported in Polivagal Theory.
Education & Experience
I have trained in neurosciences with international institutions such as: Neuronet Inc. USA, NILD USA, IBRO, Sociedad Argentina de Psicotrauma, School of Epicurius and Instituto Cuatro Ciclos of España.
I have done my advanced training in EMDR Therapy with: Argentina, Brazil, Spain, United States, Mexico and Guatemala.
I am a certified Trainer of Trainers (EDE), recognized by the EMDR Institute, EMDR ALAC and EMDR Guatemala. I have the training of trainers in Guatemala, Honduras and the Dominican Republic.
I teach about the topics: theory, approach, recovery of psychological trauma, EMDR therapy and strengthening of self-modulation strategies and regulation of the autonomic nervous system and coping strategies.
Professional & Volunteer Affiliations
I am an honorary founding partner of the EMDR Guatemala Association. I have held different positions on the board of directors, including the presidency in two terms. Making strategic alliances with other institutions for the care and/or formation of the approach based on evidence of psychological trauma.
I have led research teams in social psychology, as well as early intervention teams and humanitarian projects for the approach of acute stress, continuous traumatic stress, trauma and human strengthening, offered to different national and international bodies, institutions and sectors of the population from Desde EMDR Guatemala
