About Me
I am an outpatient therapist in a mental health clinic setting, and I enjoy working with adolescents and adults experiencing a variety of mental health difficulties and life challenges. In my free time I enjoy travelling, playing games, music, crafts, volunteering, trying new foods/restaurants, and hanging out with friends/family.
Education & Experience
Master of Social Work- Multicultural Clinical Practice- completed June 2018 at Augsburg University in Minneapolis, MN Bachelor of Social Work; Sociology- completed May 2012 at Dordt College in Sioux Center, IA I have been a social worker for about 13 years overall. My non-clinical experience includes working in the school and community in non-profit settings. I have about 7 years of clinical social work experience and have worked as a therapist with children in the home and in an outpatient mental health clinic setting. I use an integrated therapeutic approach that is client-centered and strengths-based and incorporates methods of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Positive Psychology, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) skills.
