About Me

Heidi Roselle (she/her), founder and Clinical Director of Onward Healing Counseling & Wellness, is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC 9161), EMDR International Association- Certified EMDR therapist and Approved Consultant, experienced Perinatal Mental Health Clinician (PMH-C), and registered school counselor in New Jersey and California. Heidi holds a master’s degree in Clinical Counseling from Montclair State University and a bachelor’s degree in Women & Gender Studies from Rutgers University. Heidi is an EMDR Consultant and Facilitator affiliated with The Institute for Creative Mindfulness and The Touchstone Institute. In 2023, Heidi presented at the EMDR International Association annual conference on the use of EMDR Therapy during the Perinatal Period. Heidi draws on her diverse clinical background in order to help restore clients' sense of peace and well- being. She understands and appreciates the interconnection of mind, body, and spirit, and thus the importance of helping clients nurture all aspects of themselves to achieve vibrancy and health. Heidi understands deeply how emotional blocks can adversely affect one's physical and spiritual well-being, and how pain strongly and negatively impacts mental and emotional health. Firmly grounded in the 8- phase protocol of EMDR therapy as her theoretical orientation and treatment modality, Heidi helps clients to reprocesses traumatic or upsetting experiences that wreak havoc in the nervous system and block psychoemotional healing. Heidi sees her clients as "whole persons" with tremendous strengths. This strengths-based paradigm, in conjunction with EMDR therapy, comes together to produce a powerful and potent healing method to free clients from the grips of trauma, anxieties, and barriers to healing. Heidi brings immense empathy, compassion and understanding to her work. She is particularly passionate about working with gender diverse clients, clients experiencing chronic pelvic pain, and with birthing people who have experienced trauma during fertility, pregnancy, and/or the postpartum period. Heidi also prides herself on being a culturally sensitive therapist who welcomes all clients regardless of sexual orientation, race, gender, age, religion, disability, etc. She views each client as an expert in their own experience of culture, and looks to the individual to help her understand the meaning of culture and its impact on their identity.
