About Me

I practice an integrative, trauma informed approach to psychotherapy and work with client's personal values, goals, beliefs, spirituality, hopes, insights and strengths. My doctoral research was on ways 'wisdom' was perceived by women living with ovarian cancer. Discovering personal wisdom and sustaining your connection to it is our focus - through anything. EMDR is integrated into sessions as needed and indicated by the therapy process for building resilience, healing from trauma and vicarious trauma. I work with many health care practitioners and other front-line professionals supporting those whose work can create empathy fatigue and burnout.

Education & Experience

My education at masters and doctoral levels integrated a feminist, anti-oppression, social justice and critical theory lenses. The doctoral work was at Western University in Health and Rehabilitation Sciences in the field of Health Professional Education. My study was on 'wisdom' and exploring how we, as humans, discover, integrate, mobilize personal wisdom when facing life altering and challenging crossroads or situations.

Professional & Volunteer Affiliations

I am a member of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario from its inception in 2015 in Ontario. A member of EMDRIA international as a certified EMDR therapist with complex trauma training in addition. I work as a consultant on Vicarious Trauma and Empathy Fatigue with a variety of front line organizations.
