I am a 2nd-generation, Pakistani-American, Muslim woman who specializes in trauma, severe mental health and substance use disorders, and acculturation challenges. Originally, I was a scientist, so I use both empathy and analytical skills to help others. I have won several awards for my work and appearances in news outlets. Also, I have a great sense of humor!
Education & Experience
Over 12 years of clinical work with severe mental health and substance use disorders. I have certification in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and clinical expertise in: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, and Narrative Therapy. Populations of focus: healthcare professionals, South Asian, Middle-eastern, and Muslim.
