About Me
I bring over 23 years of experience and a deep passion for my work as a Licensed Professional Counselor to All Things New Counseling, where I have served nearly 2,000 clients since opening the doors to my physical office in Nixa, Missouri in 2009. I love to serve my community by serving its members in this way, because when individuals and relationships thrive, so do their communities! I seek to create a collaborative connection with my clients by normalizing the human experience of pain and suffering as something that is common to all of humanity. As I get to know more about you and your experiences, I pay attention to your strengths and what you are already doing well. As you grow in awareness of your positive qualities, skills, and strengths, you will tend to feel more empowered to confront and resolve difficult situations. EMDR treatment can help to facilitate this process with a wide range of treatment concerns. Additionally, I have a holistic view that considers the entire person- body, mind, and spirit –with the perspective that addressing these aspects together provides the best and most effective treatment approach. I specialize in integrating the Christian faith into the counseling experience for those who desire that perspective. You are, of course, not required to hold any particular belief system to engage in counseling services with me. I have over 23 years of experience working effectively with persons who hold a variety of beliefs systems, and I am committed to meeting you wherever you are on your own journey and encouraging you towards the discovery of "something new" in your life. Additionally, I have a trained and certified therapy dog on staff at my physical office. He is a charming 20 lb Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named Dewey, and he will consistently greet you in the office with wiggles, wags, and sheer joy! Dewey earned his Canine Good Citizenship certificate endorsed by the AKC, and Dewey and I are certified as a therapy team. You will get to meet Dewey and interact with him if you schedule in-person visits. I provide telehealth services if you are averse to dogs, if the commute to my office is too far or inconvenient for you, or even if you just prefer that modality. You must be in the state of Missouri for telehealth services with me.
