About Me

James Baughman, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker practicing in Oklahoma, is dedicated to helping his clients achieve personal wellness and navigate life’s challenges with a balanced perspective. Serving the Tulsa area, he brings a compassionate, grounded approach to therapy, guiding clients through issues such as anxiety, depression, and PTSD. James utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify and transform negative thought patterns, encouraging a more positive outlook on life. With a particular passion for assisting individuals who are recently discharged from psychiatric hospitals or those required to undergo court-ordered treatment, James offers a safe, supportive environment where clients can rebuild their lives. He understands the complex emotions and unique challenges these clients face, and he is committed to helping them establish stability and resilience. James also specializes in trauma recovery through EMDR, focusing on veterans and first responders dealing with combat-related trauma or other deeply ingrained stressors. James offers individual and couples therapy for adults and seniors, with treatment plans tailored to the unique needs of each client. In addition to CBT and EMDR, he incorporates mindfulness and family therapy techniques to promote healing and growth. His therapeutic sessions are a collaborative process where clients feel empowered to take an active role in their mental health journey. Beyond his clinical work, James is passionate about social justice and community activism. He enjoys reading, spending quality time with his family, and traveling. James welcomes clients from across Oklahoma.
