About Me
My specialities include treatment of trauma and stress-related disorders, anxiety, depression, chronic illness, LGBTQ+ concerns, pregnancy endings, reproductive support and perinatal mental health. I additionally work with the trauma and stress that accompanies a relationship with a person exhibiting Borderline and/or Narcissistic behaviors Having had field experience in crisis management and critical incident response, I also provide culturally competent therapy to First Responders and their families. In addition to EMDR Certification, I also hold certifications in Perinatal Mental Health and the Havening Techniques. I believe that my clients are the best experts regarding their lives; therefore, I view the therapeutic process as truly collaborative. My mindset is inclusivity and acceptance of all. As a trauma-informed therapist, I prioritize creating a safe environment. I also believe in the power of humor, trust, empathy, and encouragement. My clients often include business owners, C-Suite executives, individuals with reproductive/parenting concerns, First Responders, Baby Boomers and those belonging to Gen X, Y, Z. Clients describe me as warm, professionally casual, gently challenging, culturally-honoring and non-judgmental. It’s also important to recognize that we live in times where division feels pervasive. Here, you can explore difficult conversations without fear of differing beliefs as I remain focused on helping you achieve meaningful change.
Education & Experience
My drive to become a therapist arose from a compassionate desire to support people in their quest to actualize the best versions of themselves—to move forward beyond obstacles and to manifest a sense of purposeful resilience. My initial career focused on writing grants for non-profits and government entities, but after becoming a parent, I felt a strong pull towards a different path. Therapy has always been a valuable model for my own personal reflection, growth, and acceptance, making it a natural evolution to return to school. Since graduating with MA in Counseling Psychology in 2010, I have worked with schools, hospitals, police partners, crisis teams, marginalized populations, and private practices. This diversity of experience shaped me into the therapist - and the person - that I am today.
