About Me
Dr. Jenna Nelson offers virtual therapy to adults and adolescents in Wisconsin, empowering individuals to overcome complex mental health challenges, including those related to trauma, abuse, and neglect. She focuses on addressing immediate needs and skillfully identifying progress, even subtle changes clients may not yet recognize. Understanding that many clients feel overwhelmed and unsure where to begin, Dr. Nelson collaborates with each individual to develop personalized treatment plans, resulting in reduced distress and improved daily functioning. Dr. Nelson is a trained EMDR clinician who incorporates evidence-based therapies, such as CBT, DBT, and ACT, into her practice.
Education & Experience
Dr. Nelson, a licensed clinical psychologist in Wisconsin since 2018, possesses a deep understanding of trauma and resilience. Her doctoral research at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology explored factors contributing to resilience in youth with Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), informing her trauma-informed practice. She holds a Psychology and Juvenile Delinquency degree from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and gained valuable experience through a pre-doctoral internship with the Wisconsin Department of Corrections and work at the Wisconsin Resource Center. In 2025, she founded Forward Way Mental Health to provide accessible mental health services.
