About Me
I am an EMDRIA-certified therapist and have advanced training in complex/developmental trauma & attachment. This trauma-informed approach has provided me with the tools to work with clients struggling with past and current events that have overwhelmed their ability to cope effectively. I have a deep appreciation for and extensive experience in working with highly sensitive clients and empaths. I understand their unique needs and work with them to manage the intensity of their emotions and embrace their many gifts. I have worked in schools for over 20 years as a teacher, counselor, and administrator; this has helped me understand the pressures, stress, and needs of educators. I am passionate about my work with education professionals and strive to provide them a space to explore their feelings and needs while helping them find a meaningful work/life balance. I employ a humanistic and integrative approach to therapy which focuses on a person's individual nature and emphasizes a client's ability to use his/her personal instincts to find wisdom, growth, and fulfillment within him/herself. Additionally, I draw from somatic approaches that utilize a holistic and neurobiological approach to healing and thus utilize yoga, meditation, and other mindfulness-based techniques when appropriate.
