Education & Experience

I earned my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Southern Connecticut State University’s accredited counseling program. Prior to this, I earned a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology from Central Connecticut State University, which allows me to utilize a mind-body approach to psychotherapy. I have been working with individuals and groups in outpatient, community and dual diagnosis treatment program settings, where c-trauma, domestic violence, substance use, anxiety, depression, PTSD and relational & interpersonal issues have been areas of need. I have clinical training in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dual diagnosis, trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TFCBT), mindfulness-based CBT (M-CBT), crisis interventions, spirituality and more. I am EMDR certified, which allows me to further help clients work on healing from difficult memories and emotions. As a Licensed Professional Counselor, my goal is to help clients gain an understanding of how past events, current life stressors and unhealthy relationships/attachments have had an effect on their lives. If we choose to work together, I will provide a safe, non-judgmental, supportive environment in which we can develop a plan to support your individual needs. I utilize a trauma-informed, compassionate and collaborative approach, in which I assist clients in recognizing their strengths, abilities and purpose. Each unique client is capable of developing healthy personal growth, in areas of physical, personal, psychological, emotional, spiritual and professional wellness. It is my hope that through evidenced-based and holistic therapeutic techniques, we can work on healing past wounds, developing life balance, and a health sense of self.
