About Me
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, National Board Certified Counselor and a 500 hour trained Yoga and meditation Teacher. I have over 20 years experience in the counseling profession. I have a part-time private practice as well as currently running an Intensive Outpatient Program at another facility. During my years in practice, I have developed a skill set of a variety of evidenced based techniques that I enjoy offering to clients including: Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, therapeutic yoga and somatic movement techniques, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and trauma-Informed treatment that includes EMDR (Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and IFS (Internal Family Systems). I am currently being trained in IFS. I find that integrating complementary methodologies such as yoga, movement, meditation, Earth-based wisdom and breathwork are powerful healing tools. I hold space for safe, trauma-informed, inclusive women’s therapy. I provide a welcoming environment for anyone who identifies as a woman to seek the support they deserve, including trans-women and non-binary people, I have a background in working with perimenopausal and menopausal women and women with chronic pain and illness. I also enjoy running groups because I see the healing power of connecting people who are struggling to empower and support one another. I am an interactive, experiential and eclectic therapist. My therapeutic approach is to provide support, techniques and feedback to help clients effectively address personal life challenges. With compassion and understanding, I works with each individual to help them build on their strengths and attain the personal growth they are committed to accomplishing. I always tell clients that, I never teach what I don't practice myself. I also run monthly therapeutic moon cycle circles and CE trainings for therapists. Outside of running IOP and a part-time private practice, you can find me hiking in the woods, practicing yoga, and hanging out with my husband and cats. I am a retired roller derby player and still enjoy quad roller skating.
