Juan Miranda, MSW, LICSWA

About Me

Greetings- my name is Juan Miranda and I love doing my part to help make the world a better place. I am a Washingtonian that is originally from Tacoma and have been very happy to call Bellingham my home for the past 13 years.   I believe that the pursuit of personal growth and healing should be an empowering adventure that challenges and motivates you to become aligned with your greatest potential. There are many difficult moments in life where you cannot choose what happens, let alone understand why it happened. Over time, these experiences and moments can leave you feeling damaged and discouraged; burdened by the past. I believe that perspective is everything. It allows for the inner reflection and progression of personal understanding while navigating the world. It can be the catalyst for meaningful change in response to life and the unexpected circumstances that can present themselves at any moment . It is one of your most valuable assets that should provide comfort, purpose and strength; not fear, confusion, and doubt. Monday and Wednesdays I work at Lifeline Connections providing therapeutic services to those w insurance. Sundays and Tuesdays I work at my private practice Restorative Enterprises Counseling Center, PLLC. I do not currently accept insurance through my private practice, however, I do offer a sliding scale rate. www.reccenterpnw.com

Education & Experience

I have been working in mental health for the past 10+ years. During this time, I have had the opportunity to work within numerous complex settings that have allowed me to provide support to individuals experiencing some of the most difficult situations that life can create. My experience has led me to work within inpatient rehab centers for teenagers struggling w cooccurring substance use and mental health issues; crisis work w adults throughout the community; providing mental health services at our county jail and juvenile detention center; working as a child and family counselor; and most recently the development of an outpatient mental health program for court involved youth. I completed the basic Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) training through the EMDR Institute between June-December of 2023. I have also completed the advanced certification requirements for EMDR through the EMDR International Association (EMDRIA) as of October 2024. My EMDR certification will be finalized upon completion of my independent license hours.
