Ms. Judith Asner, MSW, LCSW-C, BCD
(She/Her/Hers)
Preferred Name: JUDI
About Me
I am a seasoned practitioner since 1972 and have traveled the road from Psychodynamic Psychotherapy to the newer forms of therapy (IFS, Imago, EMDR, Coaching, etc.) I have enjoyed every moment and every model. I use whatever tool may be needed to help the client and am able to integrate the models. ExistentialTherapy (Viktor Frankl) brought me into this field. I completed years pf analytically-oriented therapy and group therapy. I founded one of the first Eating Disorders outpatient treatment programs in the DC area and remain avidly interested in this field. I am also a Hudson Institute Coach (Santa Barbera, CA). My present orientation is EMDR: I have earned 49 credits with Deany Laliotis, LICSW and am on my way to certification, being supervised by Hope Payson, LCSW.
Education & Experience
I hold a B.A. in Humanities from the The American University in Washington, DC and a Clinical degree from the University of Maryland School of Social Work and Community Planning, I studied in England during my Junior Year Abroad and lived in Belgium and France as a college student. I am interested in yoga, Pilates, current events, gardening, design, fashion, intuition, and nurturing the next generation. My spiritual and cultural background is Jewish though I am enlightened in the other faiths and have friends of every shape and color. Right now my greatest delight is being a grandmother who marvels at the miracle of falling in love with tiny beings.
