About Me
Helping others is my passion, and I also love the teamwork of supporting clients collaboratively within a safe, welcoming, and nonjudgmental therapeutic environment. I have extensively studied the biological, psychological, and sociological factors that influence mental health, and I am highly skilled in working with clients who have experienced trauma (big or small). Trauma does not necessarily mean 'big' events, it can also be the experience of a seemingly 'small' event that ends up as a preoccupying afterthought. Additionally, a parent's dismissive responses or emotional absence can impact in 'traumatic' ways. Research suggests that anxiety and depression are 'symptoms' of trauma. Human beings live their lives using perception to inform reality; unfortunately, the 'traumas' that stick can impact the way perception works thus promoting a skewed reality drenched with emotional responses that are confusing and often difficult to identify. Regardless of whether you have experienced trauma, reach out, and let's see what we can do to help you improve your life into a reality that includes positive emotional experiences and increased abilities in coping when challenges do arise. I use only research-based approaches to psychotherapy built upon a foundation of client-centered therapy. This approach allows me to provide holistic treatments respectful of each client's unique needs. I am a trained EMDR Clinician, and I have additional training in equity and cultural responsiveness, developing resilience, crisis prevention and intervention, trauma treatment and restorative practices, sport psychology, goal setting, assessments, and much more. Sometimes things can get challenging; explore steps that can help you improve your life and add additional clarity to your experiences. If you’d like to learn more about how I can help reach out to schedule a Free 15-Minute Consultation today. You have nothing to lose and much to gain.
