About Me
As a former elementary and special education teacher, my primary focus is working with children beginning with Pre-K through high school/college; in addition, I also work with adults of all ages. Most of the people I see have issues related to trauma, including anxiety/depression, and distress tolerance. Using a person-centered eclectic approach, I utilize EMDR, Progressive Counting, and Play Therapy, in combination with CBT and other psychotherapies while working with clients to develop positive cognitions, increase self-regulation skills, manage triggers/stressors, and process trauma. Creating a nonjudgmental safe place of integrity, I desire to work with individuals and families, addressing the goals/issues related to the person's areas of concern, including those involving home/school/workplace. Working together, I believe people will be able to increase their overall mental health and wellness.
Education & Experience
My educational experience includes a MSW degree, and MsEd in Special Education, and an undergraduate degree in elementary education, humanities, and social science.
Professional & Volunteer Affiliations
I am a member of ACA, APA, APT, and volunteer for a local soup kitchen/food pantry.
