About Me
I am a psychotherapist, trained as both a Clinical Psychologist and Counsellor, and the Director of Listening Ear Counselling & Consultancy Pte. Ltd. in Singapore. With more than two decades of experience in the helping profession, I have journeyed alongside individuals, couples, and families from diverse walks of life, supporting them through trauma, loss, relationship challenges, and life transitions with empathy, warmth, and a touch of humour when life allows it. For over 15 years, I have integrated EMDR Therapy in my work, specialising in trauma and complex trauma, attachment injuries, shame, and relational distress. I am a Life Member of EMDR India and a Full Member of EMDR Singapore. My advanced EMDR training and consultation include work with Dr Roger Solomon, Dolores Mosquera, Ignacio (Nacho) Jarero, Ana Gomez, Carol Forgash, and Kelly Smyth-Dent, among others. My Portuguese-Goan-Indian heritage and marriage of 25 years to a Singaporean Chinese spouse have shaped my deep respect for cultural diversity and human connection. As a Singapore citizen, I value inclusivity and have had the privilege of working with clients of varied nationalities, faiths, and orientations in both local and international contexts. My areas of focus include trauma and complex trauma, attachment wounds, infidelity, addiction, and sexuality-related concerns, including those rooted in early developmental experiences. My therapeutic approach integrates EMDR with bottom-up modalities such as Internal Family Systems (IFS), Somatic Experiencing (SE), and Dynamic Attachment Repatterning Experience (DARe), alongside top-down approaches such as Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy (REBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Choice/Reality Therapy. I also draw on postmodern models including Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) and Narrative Therapy. I consider myself a lifelong student, continually learning and refining my craft to bring the best to those I serve. I work at my clients’ pace, guided by a neuro-experiential model that emphasises safety, presence, and collaboration. However complex the story, I believe therapy can remain deeply humane, genuine, and even gently humorous, because connection heals. I am LGBTQIA+ and SGM affirming. Available for in-person and online sessions via Zoom.
