Kasey Byrd, LPC
About Me
Hi! I’m Kasey, a Licensed Professional Counselor with a passion for working with people who want to be heard. Life can be messy and hard, sometimes leading us to feel stuck. I’m here to help! I am married to a first responder and we have 3 children and 2 dogs; I understand the difficulty of trying to “balance it all”. I take an eclectic and individualized approach to therapy, drawing from several evidence-based practices. At the core of my work is a person-centered foundation where I work to create a warm, nonjudgmental, and empathetic space for you to feel truly seen and heard. Based on your needs, I can integrate techniques from CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy) to help you identify and shift unhelpful patterns of thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, as well as ACT (acceptance and commitment therapy) to support you in building psychological flexibility and living in alignment with your values. I have specialized training in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). I’m committed to offering personalized care that empowers my clients to build resilience, improve their mental well-being, and thrive in their everyday lives. Throughout my career, I have worked across various settings, from public schools to private practices, providing therapeutic services to clients of all ages and supporting students in special education programming. My experience includes working with children, adolescents, and adults to address a wide range of issues including trauma, anxiety, depression, and behavioral challenges. Whether you’re looking for help with managing anxiety, overcoming trauma, or simply improving your overall emotional well-being, I am here to support you.
