Kate Dearth, LICSW
(she/they)
About Me
Hi there! My name is Kate (she/they) and I am a neurodiverse, queer, cisgender person who is also a licensed clinical social worker (LICSW), and EMDR Certified therapist. I operate my tele-business, Rooted & Rising LLC, where I serve as a trauma therapist with individuals and a consultant with fellow healthcare workers, groups, & organizations. In the private practice side of things, my work specializes in supporting adolescent and adults as they seek to address symptoms of personal & cultural traumas (especially anxiety, depression, post- as well as pervasive-traumatic stress, attachment & adjustment challenges, and navigating grief & loss). I also have subspecialties in supporting those who are 2SLGBTQIA+, people across spectrums of neurodiversity, disabled & chronically ill people, and fellow healthcare workers. While EMDR is a method most of my clients use in our work together, I also weave in elements of IFS, narrative, dialectical, and cognitive behavioral therapy modalities; as they match each person's goals & needs. My style is rooted in the lenses of human rights, social justice, systems theory, as well as trauma and attachment-responsive frameworks; and I prioritize anti-oppressive, collaborative, strengths-based, and solutions-focused approaches. Ultimately, I believe that through relationships based on safety, authenticity, kindness - and even a little humor - that people are capable of making the meaningful changes they seek in their lives & in their communities. Be in touch with your questions!
