About Me
I grew up in sunny San Diego, California. I enjoyed being a short drive from the beach and the beautiful weather. During my spare time, I love being with my family, husband, son, and my cat Brigsbe. I strive to focus on my self-care with activities like acupuncture, being outdoors, traveling, and music festivals. You also may find me eating at all the different taco spots that Austin has to offer. My favorite is the Migas Taco from Veracruz All Natural! I am a neurodivergent therapist. It's taxing growing up masking and feeling different. I started to learn about my brain right before grad school. Through my work with a therapist, she helped me realize how amazing neurodivergent brains can be. We all have our strengths and at times need help realizing them. It made me want to help other neurodivergent people in the same way. After I became a parent, I realized how beautiful and hard it can be if you have AuDHD. Every parent deserves support during this life-changing transition. Getting the self-care you need will help your family too. As a therapist, I love that I will always be growing and learning. I enjoy trainings and want to find new ways to help my clients. It is one of my favorite parts of my job. I never get bored because there is so much valuable information out there. I really love being a therapist, and I feel that my clients know that.
Education & Experience
I got my Bachelor’s degree in psychology because I’ve always been fascinated with how the mind works. I moved to Austin to be close to my sister and nephew and pursue my Master's of Arts in Counseling from St. Edward’s University. Ever since I was little, I loved listening to everyone’s stories and helping people. I truly knew from a young age that I had an innate ability that was meant for supporting others. I work with Neurodiversity (Autism, ADHD), learning differences (APD), sensory differences, life transitions, trauma, anxiety, and depression. I always crave additional training, so I completed my EMDR certification and became certified in Perinatal Mental Health. I am Neurodivergent (AuDHD) and have a deeper understanding of the experience. I offer a more progressive approach in EMDR that is a better fit for Autistic ADHD people. My goal is to support moms and dads, as well as Neurodivergent parents. I completely believe in the importance of focusing on the mind-body connection and will, at times, incorporate mindfulness coping strategies to reduce stress. In sessions, I have a more person-centered and collaborative approach. I will always be open to constructive feedback, wanting to know what is working for you and what aspects haven’t served you in the past. I address correcting negative behaviors, identifying triggers, and self-defeating thoughts. I also focus on attachment theory by breaking old patterns and creating new healthy boundaries. I work with Autistic People and ADHDer's, learning differences, trauma (PTSD), life transitions, anxiety, and depression. I am EMDR certified and became certified in perinatal mental health (conception- 1 year postpartum). I support moms and dads, especially those who are neurodivergent. I am a mom and know how amazing yet completely life-changing becoming a parent can be. I want you to feel seen and cared for. The truth is I care about every one of my clients. I am your therapist all year round, not just for an hour each week. Therapy can feel overwhelming at first but I go at whatever pace feels best. We can take it slow if needed. Every person is different, and I see you for you. I am great at finding what makes you unique and empowering those beautiful parts of you.
