Kerrie Buis, LICSW
(She/her)
Preferred Name: Kerrie
About Me
I came into clinical social work as a second career, after teaching English at the community college level for more than a decade. I am a 3rd generation social worker, as my maternal grandmother worked for the newly formed Welfare Department in the 1930's, and my father was also a licensed clinical social worker.
Education & Experience
I received my Masters in Social Work in 2012 and have worked in a variety of settings, including health care, homelessness and housing, and community mental health. Because I saw repeatedly how trauma affected people in all of these areas, I became interested in trauma work and EMDR.
Professional & Volunteer Affiliations
I am a member of NASW.
