Khrystyna Misyuk, LMHC
Preferred Name: Khrystyna
About Me
In my work, I focus on empowering adults to move beyond their past. Using EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), I guide clients through the healing process for a range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, and the often-overlooked emotional burden of ADHD (especially for those newly diagnosed). My approach helps to reprocess difficult memories, alleviate shame, and foster lasting emotional well-being. Additionally, drawing on my Ukrainian heritage, I am committed to offering empathetic and culturally attuned support to Ukrainian immigrants navigating trauma, displacement, and adjustment.
Education & Experience
I earned my Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Mental Health Counseling with an emphasis on multiculturalism from Teachers College, Columbia University in 2016. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the State of New York, having completed my EMDR Basic Training in 2021. With 8 years of clinical experience, I've supported adults in various settings. My work experience includes extensive work in a private clinic, primarily focusing on ADHD, along with anxiety, depression, and bipolar disorder. Additionally, I have 8 years of dedicated experience providing counseling to older adults within an organizational setting.
