About Me

Hi, I’m Kimberly S. Davis. I’m an EMDR Trained Therapist who works with adults who have experienced tough stuff in their childhood or present. I also utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (IFS) to help my clients. My goal is to help you stop feeling overwhelmed and depressed and start guiding you to where things feel manageable again. My Journey To Becoming A Therapist My own growth through personal life struggles is what helps me relate so deeply with clients. After experiencing Hurricane Katrina, I understood what it was like to experience adversity. I received the support I needed during this difficult time. So now I help others that experience challenges or trauma in their lives too. My life experiences are what lead me to become the therapist I am today. Helping People Gives My Life Meaning Being a therapist is an honor. I love helping people become healthier and more empowered and watching them transform their lives. The most rewarding thing about being a therapist is seeing a person walk away lighter, freer, and excited about their life. I am committed to encouraging you to see healing and transformation. I Have A Strong Pull Towards Helping And Bring Supportive And Encouraging Energy To Sessions I have a natural ability to: • Help people identify what they are feeling • Help people feel comfortable • Accept people for who they are and in their current life circumstances • Help clients heal their past and manage the present People who know me often say that I am a good listener who can be fully present for people’s stories, even if they are difficult stories. Our Sessions Are Focused On You Sessions will provide you with the space to explore your thoughts, feelings, and goals. In feeling safe and comfortable, you’ll be able to figure things out about yourself. It’s important to me to create safety within session and focus on setting goals and working on reaching them together. There isn’t a “one size fits all” approach to therapy. Our sessions will fit your specific needs and concerns. As A Therapist, I Embrace The Following Philosophies • I believe that you deserve to feel better • I believe that you are worthy of love and care • I believe that there is no shame in asking for help • I believe that therapy should address the person as a whole – their mind, body, and spirit • I believe that Brene Brown was right when she said, “Owning your story is the bravest thing you’ll ever do.”
