About Me

Kirsti Reese, MA, LPC-S, LCDC, RPT-S, PMH-C, CCTP is a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor working in private practice the Houston area. Owner of Thrive Therapy Houston, Kirsti helps trauma survivors and those suffering from chronic stress and provides education and training on secondary traumatic stress to mental health professionals. Kirsti has specialized training as a Certified Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapist (TF-CBT), Certified EMDR Therapist & EMDRIA Approved Consultant, and Registered Play Therapist Supervisor (RPT-S). She has a background in Psychology from Texas A&M University and a Master’s in Clinical Psychology from Sam Houston State University. Kirsti has previously worked with a Child Advocacy Center counseling children, adolescents, and caregivers who have experienced various forms of trauma and abuse and with Redeemed Ministries to support survivors of human trafficking. These experiences, and many others, opened her heart to the importance of community and sustainability when working in such a challenging field.
