About Me
I’m Krista, a registered clinical counselor dedicated to supporting individuals through life's challenges. I have 9 years of practice in the field of counseling, I have experience supporting youth, adults and the elderly in a variety of mental health settings including group homes, emergency shelters, inpatient addiction treatment centers and trauma recovery programs for veterans and first responders. I specialize in trauma, addiction, substance abuse, anxiety, depression, borderline personality disorder, low self-esteem and relationship difficulties. I use a range of modalities including eye movement desensitization reprocessing (EMDR), cognitive processing therapy (CPT), cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioural therapy (DBT), emotion focused therapy (EFT), as well as somatic therapies. I believe that therapy is a partnership—a collaborative journey where you are the expert of your own life, and I’m here to guide and support you every step of the way. In my practice, I offer a compassionate, open space for you to explore your thoughts, feelings, and challenges. I strive to build a trusting relationship where you feel heard, valued, and empowered. Whether you're facing a specific issue or simply seeking personal growth, I will work with you to create positive, lasting change. Outside of my private practice, I support individuals in a trauma recovery program, helping first responders and veterans recover from PTSD. I am also involved in a clinical research study that is trying to find out whether an investigational medicine, given with psychological support, can improve depressive symptoms for those suffering with treatment-resistant depression. My approach is holistic and tailored to each individual's unique needs, combining evidence-based techniques with a deep understanding of the human experience.
